Thank for sharing, see many different types in there, those typically available from taiwan like duboisi, moliro, ikola. See some that have very weird bars and patches though, my personal take on taiwan fish, is get them only if you know what variant they are and what exactly to look out for, as sometimes, you do see very odd looking fish (crossbreeds between variants). But as long as you enjoy them and do not pass the fry there should not be a problem.

Welcome to tropheus keeping, you will soon learn what an enjoyable (and addictive) species they are

These variants are usually available from Taiwan and are available at the most LFS. You can always ask the shop from where they are sourced.

Good that you are keeping them in a large group, will help with the aggression.

A good way to know fishes from Taiwan or not are the prices la. Very distinct indication....most tanganyikans that are priced $30 and below are from Taiwan or hobbyists bred. Any German or African shipment will cost more than $30 at least la....generally speaking. However, it also does NOT meant than any tanganyikans that are priced more than $30 are from Germany/Africa hor...could be that species are rare or the lfs simply up the prices.

P/S: You will NEVER find German/Africa tangans priced lowly la....lfs do NOT make that mistake and sell them cheaply.

Haha I see, so far have not seen tropheu worth more than 30 except full grown. So should be all from Taiwan, African shipment means wc right, so German one is more well bred? That's why more ex?
