Default Altum first aid

Long time since i kept altums..

Took over this 5 beauties from a bro.
But over the week, their bodies have been developing stuffs. Today's development for 1 was the worst.

As of now, everyone still eating well. No bickering. Still doing good.

When arrived about 1 week in.

Biggest problem found today. The scales ard eye area seems to be "slightly opened" kinda looked like bang against something..

Need bros suggestion.

always difficult to acclimatise even stable altums to a community tank with plants and fish

as a suggestion
i would remove all tank mates / wool (keep media) / plants

or best to another empty but established tank

The best is you kept them sepparate in a QT tank until they get used to your regime of water change and food. After two weeks time you can put them in the Comm tank with less risk of finding injuries or sickness on them. If their injuries and osres look serious , you can use wtrerlife product for fin rot and ulcers. It worked very effectively for me to QT some Wild Caught altums i bought at C328

agree with above, best to separate from all commensal hosts! that includes plants/fish

on the cautionary note, that sore above the eye looks bad. I had one or two albums who went that way with such sores and invariably passed on. The "infection" is just next to the brain.

I would save the rest while there is time
In short, i would take them out of that tank stat. I probably won't medicate in this case. (the cause is the new environment and medication will give a new stressor to them)

Day 3...
Monitoring.
Honestly, i dont dare shift more to prevent stress..

The pimple "broke" and flatten slightly. With an "open" wound.

looks a bit like the "hole in the head" discus disease .
if so, metronidazole may work, but with altums got to be very careful
all the best in recovery of them.

the hole emptied out... the white stuffs cleared. can see a hole in the head

but the hole seems to stay as it is, altum is still eating.

however, noticed the other side of face, noticed 2 small growth but seems to kinda disappear but closely monitoring them.
all altums still eating fine.
