There are those who invite to fill numbers rather than inviting friends/relatives because they want them to be there to share e joy.
If it's inviting to share the joy, how to expect guest to share the bill just cos we decided to go for fancy restaurants that cost an arm/leg (that some can't afford to give equivalent in ang pao), and than if these invited guest doesn't pay their share, the couple go out to shame them.
Wanna hold wedding dinners, need to be mentally prepared to top up the shortages.
