Default Is T5 suitable for Planted?

Thinking of getting 4ft Hopar T5 (4X54W). Is it suitable for planted?

Read somewhere the intensity of the light is powerful enuff to penetrate a 2ft height tank and that it generates less heat than PL.

Any comments or advise.

Thanks

t5ho is very highly recommended for planted tanks due to the reasons you've already stated

It would be better to get the T5HO, HO stands for High Output & will be able to penetrate to the bottom if the height of the tank is 2ft... There is a difference between T5 & T5HO...

I know for a fact that people can buy spares for the E-Ballast as they are sold by itself... It should be that you can change the E-Ballast & do not require to change the whole light...
