Is T5 suitable for Planted?
Thinking of getting 4ft Hopar T5 (4X54W). Is it suitable for planted?
Read somewhere the intensity of the light is powerful enuff to penetrate a 2ft height tank and that it generates less heat than PL. Any comments or advise. Thanks |

t5ho is very highly recommended for planted tanks due to the reasons you've already stated

It would be better to get the T5HO, HO stands for High Output & will be able to penetrate to the bottom if the height of the tank is 2ft... There is a difference between T5 & T5HO...

Thks for all the advise. But i heard once the e-ballast for t5 spoilt, cannot replace. Must change the whole light. Is it true?

I know for a fact that people can buy spares for the E-Ballast as they are sold by itself... It should be that you can change the E-Ballast & do not require to change the whole light...
