don't know if it'll still be stable after that but its definitely much easier to cut that cutting your tank's bracing..

hmm my light's balancing on only 'outer legs', at least that's why they're designed. that's why i mentioned if it will make the light unstable or not cause i don't know how the design is like.

may be can consider cutting away the outer leg and use the L-shape to support then use paper binder clip to double secure it. clip might rust.

spent so much time thinking & in the end
decided to use this tank to age water & get a 2nd hand braceless tank instead, which is also easier to install cooling fans

keeping CRS......my 1st time trying CRS after my planted community set up failed...plants start melting 1 by 1....so sad....some more invest so much in this project
