Take out all ph buffer such as cc or os. Then just put a ph meter inside to monitor the ph. Once hit the desired ph, then add baking soda to sustain the same level can liao. Problem solved

what is OS?
i dont have chip corals in my tank since i thought in can only increase my ph more.. i have a pair of p14 in my tank.. one ray is eating well, the other did not eat for 4 days already... the tank is about 10 months already... i have a pair of bd pups together with the pair of p14 in this tank before unfortunately the bd died one after another about 6 months ago.. i am afraid my 1 p14 will be dead anytime soon... im suspecting it my ph that is too high here is the pic of my sump (but not updated) im planning to change all my media to seporax or seachem matrix one chamber at a time... since i dont have any reason anymore why my tank ph is up |

OS = Oyster Shell. Just let the bioload slowly decrease your pH then. As time goes it will drop slowly. Do measure your water parameters just to ensure all factors are under control. |

Just remove all os.. cc and wait for the ph to drop but do use a ph monitor 24/7.. once the ph drop to your desirable level than slowly add in os or cc to maintain it..

I tried ketapang leaves and peat moss before. No use. End up 2 of my bd died one after another. My highest ph reached about 8.7 then! Maybe due to my additional lime stone coral rocks from Bali then.
Your Bacteria House are china made types? They may cause higher ph. What I did last time was to remove my bacteria house, os and other medias portion by portion and perform massive water change and add ph powder (seachem is good) down to lower the ph bit by bit. But took me 1-2 months to stabilise to desire ph. Maybe I didn't change enough water then. Afterwhich I add in all bacteria house, os and medias back (except my Bali rocks) and it's ok. But i have a ph meter connected to my fgt now to monitor daily now. Will be best if you can re-start your water since tank is easier to re-start. It should be faster. |
