He forgot the basic premise that Local Public Fund must be for its People, 取之于民,用之于民。。。

Bro,
We have to be realistic, take this issue with non-emotional stance.

I differentiate the non-SGreans :
those whose heart & soul are rooted here,
those using measly red dot as stepping stone,
those with nothing better elsewhere( ie they CMI or twilight of their careers )
those bonded here but waiting to go,
those here to try a different lifestyle/gain experience & enjoy the local pleasures.

The government & ppl of Singapore should try to convert the useful FTs to the first category who are "Singaporean" at heart.

All, Singaporean & FTs, are not dumb, all are not working for free.
Most Singaporeans & all FTs, have the option to leave Singapore, no one is enslaved or indentured here.
As for the minority group of locals who have nowhere to go, hope they realize they are better off here as noone else wants or needs them, it is up to them to improve their own lot. In most other countries, they would be suffering more.

Noone is owed a living or an easy life.

As for FTs, don't bring in the CMIs or has beens, we are getting foreign second liners to play against foreign first teams, thats a friggin mistake & if not changed, my expectations of the end will come true. All, capable Singaporeans & FTs, will then have to take flight.

Yes, no one here is owed a living, be it FTs or locals....

However, this is a country and not a company and the garment is elected by it's citizens and thus should be serving it's people, rich or poor.....

So unlike private scholarships, garment's scholarships should be based on nationality....IMO....
