Default Oyama strip on top portion of tank

Hi guys, can anyone share if there are any specific function of it?

Some functions I can think of:

- Looks like cover
- Cover waterline and watermarks
- Without waterline, make tank looks like space
- Block light rays from shining out

Aesthetics.. For me the main purpose is to cover the water line so it looks nice
