Default Pond and filtration anddesign.

Hi guys,

Anybody here has an easy to understand pond and filtration design?
Planning to make a 12x8x4 pond, I'm planning to have buttom drain,
but i dont really understand how it works as of now, anybody has a nice design of filtration and the pipings? it would also be better if the computations are also present

thanks

bottom drain mean the filter have to be below ground level and lower than your pond floor level.
The water will flow by gravity to the lowest point...filled up the 1st compartment of your filter sump...den to the 2nd, 3rd and lastly...at the last compartment... a water pump will pump back filtered water back into your pond.

Are you going to get a pond builder to do it for you?

Here is a drawing a friend have drawn for me. My opinion is the return piping should be no less than 30 cm in diameters, better still 50 cm diameters.

For bottom drain, the diameters should be 100 cm or more. Hope this give you a rough idea of pond design. The design is for easy maintenance of the pond.

bro...1cm=10mm,
10cm = 100mm
100cm = 1000mm = 1 meter

think you got the units all mix up

contractor will be cheap but they may not know how to lay the piping properly, end up the flow will be affected.

just have to monitor them properly!

Default Dream pond ...

Think you can google a little base on filtration type you have in mind.
Find many interesting features & variations.

Think this one the design quite comprehensive for big outdoor pond. Can be reduced & scale down
