ya, good and bad bacteria all gone. Algae, ICH all die. Then re-cultivate good bacteria. Try it for a week and see the water condition improve or not. When water is in good condition then stop using UVC. You don't ve to on the UVC forever. A week of treatment might not wipe out all the good bact.

but my UV light will not kill the bacteria in my filter right? it will probably reduce the amount if bacteria in the water but i do not see how it will kill the bacteria in the filter

i decided to try to get some yamato to help get rid of the algae but i found this guy in the bag. anybody knows what it it? its the one in the middle

bro can try horned nerite snails

so far best snails i can find to clean algae.
they will lay eggs but wont hatch unless ur pH is very low

the yamato shrimps were great. within a day saw visible improvement on how much algae they ate.

fyi, ghost shrimps do have pincers... as seen with my newbie eyes
