Default DIY Shrimp Eggs Tumbler/hatchery

Showing my DIY shrimps eggs tumbler or hatchery. This simulates fanning of female shrimps this can better prevent eggs from getting mouded then putting rested by frushing water. The effectiveness of the tumbler depends on the maturity of the eggs, the more mature of the shrimp eggs, the better chance they will hatch. It has very high hatch rate when the eggs are 2 weeks or olders.

Showing the eggs tumbler in action. It is air driven. Adjust the air, such that the eggs are tumbling within the 2nd lower section of S.

Showing where the eggs are. Unfornately, I can't upload video too youtube now, else you will be able to see the eggs moving.

"schematic diagram" of the egg tumbler. S is outer diameter 16mm tube. B is internal diameter 16mm tube. M is plastic mesh. The words in yellow are in cm. Of course, you can use different set of suitable diameter tubes and length of tube. The idea is, there need to have 2 sections in the egg chambers, from small to big. Tune the air such that the eggs will not go to the big section, keep eggs at 6cm S part.

Innovative egg tumbler there.

There were many versions from YouTube that one can refer to.
Broader base type look more promising.

Just want to remind for those that are using this type of tumbler. Do not leave your newly hatched shrimplets for more than a day. They might not be able to survive in there if you keep them for too long.

hhhmmm...., narrow base at the egg chambler is a must to prevent the eggs to get sucked. Broader base egg chambler will result in eggs stuck in top mesh. Thats why I have 2 joint design, where lower joint is small (narrow). I am not sure if a broader base below the lower mesh helps or not.

Within a few days, inside the tube will have enough micoscopic growth to provide food for shrimplets and if your design is not fash flow but the eggs are tumbling within a few millimeter, the newly hatched shrimplets can survive and feed inside the hatchery without need for fast removal.

No pet bottle involved but cost of tubes and stuff... Maybe I can make and sell at $15 liao. Ok AF members discount, $12 nett. (i'm not so creative nor entreprising actually). Such improvised devices are good for hobbyist. Defray cost, but also remains innovative.

I need to digest the design a bit when I'm free next week. Where can we find such fine nettings you used there?

So far, when I have dead pregnant shrimps, i leave e eggs in a breeding container, where the holes are too wide. Cannot use direct water (outlet) into e container else eggs slips out.
