My 2015 Casualties RIP
So this year has not been kind to me. I've lost several fish..
My 50cm qian hu vfsr arowana managed to jump out of a weighted lid. I found the poor guy semi dry on the floor and tried to resuscitate him which failed. It happened in the early morning. Here's what he looked like just before. Here is my 40cm tigrinis that had a bacterial infection or some form of SDS that killed him within a day of acting strange. I have had the tig for over a year growing him from much smaller. This was very sad as it happened just three days after the red arowana jumping. And here I lost a juvenile GATF some how as well. I do 50% WC weekly and sometimes twice. Got over it but it definitely sucked big time... |

For the tank with the Tig/VFSR, it is a 180x75x70 with dual side filtration overflow without an external sump. I am in the process of building a OHF drip plate system (4x4) to supplement it. I do 50% WC because the bioload is a bit high from the community of fish.
The tank with the GATF and other fish that past is in a 180x45x55 with a OHF drip plate 5x5. water pumps for both tanks are i believe 3000 or 4000 lph. |
