Note that the died lob was not at moulting stage
try feeding frozen worms, they will eat that... maybe wun feel that hungry to the extent of eating their own kind...
anyway the QH lobster was abt 15 inch.. v. impressive! can eat already

Mine bit off 1 of the female's claw and munch on it. But other than that no such signs in my tank. 3 lobsters i have 2 dw and 1 pyramid wif 3 cylinders in it. Plenty of hiding spots. Currently moved the single clawed lobster into hospital tank until moulting.

Maybe lack of hiding spots? Or that dead lobster isn't strong enough to survive in the wild. Or extensive size difference. If it's size, maybe you want to isolate the smaller sizes one into separate tanks until it's bigger. Dare not put the few new red lobsters i bought inside the comm, too small -.-

i hav a dw n 2 plastic tubes, suffice hiding space in my opinion.. maybe tat lobster just too weak to survive.. oh well..

then other lob is healing its claw, will consider whether i wana put it back into the main tank or stay in hospital for good.. lob-killing lob.. duno he stable or not..

lol... in the wild is survival of the fittest mah. Cannibalism is normal, esp for male. Btw, ur lobsters are common blue, the white one i dunno.

hahaha!! yah. From my observation, common blue male only changes the claw colour when it's matured.

sigh... still cannot find my outfield lobster.

my red just berried today!! suddenly out nowhere the female that was hiding for so long was bursting with eggs

this is my first time so i really can use some advice

currently she shares a 2ft with 2 other reds:

- do i seperate her to another tank? im afraid if i move her to another tank, the water conditions etc. might stress her too much.
- or shld i move the other 2 away instead?
- or do i even need to move anything

my tinking is that shld invest in a move so that when she eventually gives birth (hopefully) can manage the young ones?

also the current tank has gravel so i tink will be quite hard to manage the babies, better to move to a clean floor tank?

so many more worries now, like are the eggs fertilized, will she drop them coz i heard 1st time mothers dun do so well etc. hai~~

congrads all fellow lobby bros on the 12th thread!!
