i think u have place too much cotton wool in ur filter, it will clog up ur filter very soon.
Why not just use a layer of fine wool?
For active carbon, do remember to change at least monthly as it then to leech after sometimes. If for me, i wont use it.

thanks bro.. i think i will remove the active carbon once the cycling is competed, and replace it with more coral chip or maybe some cerimal ring(duno spell correctly or not)

the wool i using is low grade de.. LOL.. after 1-2 week will become very thin.. maybe is also they way i wash them.. i alway use high pressure water to wash it till clean clean.. and change the wool filter once every once a month.. will try to remove 1-2 piece of it and see if it is ok..

do let me know if i'm doing anything wrongly, cos i still a newbie..

I am enjoying reading your step by step progress log. Keep them coming.

btw, what species do you plan to keep ? also, be sure that you know what ratio for all the salt mixture.

You may want to use the seachem lake salt for a start.

the marina salt is quite cheap.. so i think it worth buying.. 9 dollar for 2kg.. i read some where it will be better.. but anyway.. i dose both of them.. ha... kaisu..

as for the plant.. i think i will just let it float around.. or just tied to some pebble or the lava rock.. yet to decide.. need to wait for my seashell to arrive before decide.. dun really noe i wan to scape the tank yet..
