Filter Cover
Hi all, i could not find any article on this hence has decided to post this after much read up
I have read that HOF / Canister filter, you should cover the sucking inlet with either sponge or fine netting so shrimps / shrimplets do not get sucked inside. However,i would like to know, if you put a sponge / fine netting at the inlet sponge ... can the waste ever reach the inside of your filter so that your filter media in your filter can serve their purpose ( aside from ceramic rings ) ?? Wouldnt all the dirt / waste be trap outside at the sponge at the sucking inlet area ?? I am planning to set up a cherry shrimp tank and hence would really like to find out more. Many Thanks !! |

if the dirt to go into the filter it makes the filter dirty very quickly then u got to spend more time cleaning the filter..
if u use sponge at the inlet then lesser time to clean the filter but u need to clean/replace the sponge loe.. |

Use a big piece of sponge rather than small small piece.
