I have heard different methods,

first is to introduce fishes that take mp , so the armatus monkey see , monkey do,

another is to have a heart of steel , and starve .

Some bros here have starved their armatus more than a month to get them on mp. About the belly, armatus have fantastic metabolic rates, you can fill their belly up but it will subside in couple of hours.

Also have to take note of the tankmates. Armatus have been known to take down and swallow fishes 1/2 to 3/4 their size. So monitor the starving.

agree , its best to starve them in a tank themselves , i have starve a few of my scombs for close to 2 months already , still not budging...

for my armatus , some were pretty quick , but one or 2 stubborn pieces took longer , some not even interested...

but have a heart of steel if you want to mp train them .
