Arowana not well!
have to admit, i have been neglecting my arowana for few weeks due to other commitments. notice yesterday that my arowana developed some red rashes on its fins and mouth. check water parameters using the test stripes showed that the nitrate slightly on a high side.
i have changed about 20% water yesterday and today and added some salt and tap water conditioner. Also changed the filter sponge to new one. Can some expert advise what i should do. |

From the bubble on the head area is due to bad water condition. Once water condition improve its will go away. My red encounter before its a long process. Hope it helps.

Initially i add medication but thing turn for the worse with no sign of recovery. Only after more water change and control feeding then the condition gets better. This is cause by high ammonia spike so adding BB also help. Add BB a day after water change & increase air supply will also help.

Bloody streaks on fins usually due to poor water quality.
Do check if your test stripes are not expired. I would do a major water change (50% or more, remember to use good water conditioner), increase aeration and stop feeding until blood streaks go off. If done properly, bloody streaks go off within a short time. Clean your OHF as well.

Hi guys, yesterday did a water change about 30%. Woke up this morning, my arowana is dead....
This is second time 2 arowana dead from my hand. Previously kept rtg, panda gold and green arowana for more than 5 years and none die until I have to give up due to family commitments. Return back to keep arowana and this thing happened. Is it that now my hand can't keep arowana anymore? |

Bro,
There is no such thing as u lost touch with Aro keeping or rather fish keeping. A fish hobbyist can stop the hobby for a certain period but it is almost impossible to stop completely. Recall back what leads to the development of the condition of the Aro and rectify it. This case is more on water conditions. Very bad water. |
