Hi

Are pacu suitable tankmates for aros?

i have 2 pacu in my comm. But 1 thing to note. Pacu's growth rate can be very fast and they do eat alot... I bought mine a miserly 1 inch. Within 2 months almost 1 feet liao......

they tend to grow very huge.. not advisable unless you have a big tank.

Bro ,which one u are worried about ,the Aro whack Pacu or vice versa .?Anyway ,no issue to comm them if there are enough tank space for Pacu to grow ..

WOW. thats really fast! i hope a 5-6feet tank is sufficient.

Actually, more of scared pacu whack aro. But pacu smaller than aro, so should not be much of a problem. But i do realise pacu do like to nip on my gar's tail.(gar slightly bigger than pacu).

yes can comm but provided you have a very big tank. considering the pacu's growth rate and maximum size.

and the nipping... your pacu maybe hungry. they're always hungry nothing but stomach

They sure are hungry creatures! from the way they eat, reminds me of piranha. Quite similar! haha..

pacu is actually belongs to the family of piranas. it has
hugh appetite and it grows tremedously fast .
if you want to rear pacu should consider a minimum
6x2.5x2.5ft tank...
