Default Update my humble local-bred Showa

This is the 1st local-bred baby showa that kick-started my passion for local bred gosanke varieties. Picked her up in Dec 2007, still in my pond today after 3 rounds of culling. Pattern not great, but good body structure & growing well.

Dec 07- 21cm

Sep 08 - 43cm

May 09 - 53cm

Now abt 1yr 9mths old, still got long way to go... Hope to grow her to 75cm in 3 more years.

These 3 imported ones got culled out... all were Kagemaru's first purchases when he first started buying koi... entry level imported tosai bought in Dec 2007.

All of them cost between $300-400, inclusing the 3 from Japan that were culled out. Should be affordable lah.... some goldfish also cost the same, aro is more expensive...
