Talking Back to Planted

Hi all,

After a break of 1yr, I am back to planted tank. This is my setup currently.

You rocks and plants are placed too centralised, making the setup very symmetrical. You should consider shifting the positions of the rocks and is it possible to add another to make it 3 rocks. Place them slightly to one side just off centre and the effect should be better. More plants at the back would be better too.

First off, rocks ought to be in odd numbers, having two will cause a break in flow, especially when you try to seperate them and form a scape.

Also, the rock on the right seems better as a complimentary piece rather than a main piece. The shape of the rock is too flat and doesn't have the... hmm.. character? The rock on the left is fine and getting more to build up around it is what I'd recommend.

I was hoping that you would slope the substrate so that your tank will have a nice depth, the current setup is a little flat, but it is fine as you can trim the plants with the tallest at the back and the shortest at the front, but it'd just be extra work for you.

Sorry to seem to nitpick, but your tank has potential and my personal feel is that a number of changes will help to turn it around.

Hope this helps.
