BBA and the staghorn like algae still growing but not horrifyingly bad... mostly on the ground which will be covered by my new green plant which is suppose to block the light source. Will try to update some photos soon.

the best thing to get rid of algae is not algae crew, its increasing your co2 output.. if urs is a low tech tank, overdose excel to clear it.

yes.. actually getting rid of algae is quite simple. increase flow in tank to remove dead spot, if your not injecting enough co2, increase it.. keep up with your fert and lighting and thats it. usually my co2 drop checker shows light green - yellowish color.. to make sure i "overdose" co2 slightly..

Try adding floating plants like frogbits to help suck up the excess nutrients. Manually remove the BBA and and focus on letting your plants flourish. The algae will slowly go away when the plants are growing well.
