i can't imagine if big 5" Male L46 trapped a smaller male...sure see blood

5" dunno if M size cave enuf or not... biggest i saw was 4" Male.

back to the topics... my opinion to keep the small pleco alive longer is to have a lower flow rate. when in the wild, the smaller fries will hide in the cave or maybe some branches and thus did not expose to the strong current like river xingu.... and also a heater is a must.. why? to increase their appetite and aid in fasting growing...

Agreed, i had a lot of casualties until i heed zonkkie's advise to turn heater to 32deg.

They all had some kind of white spots on them and kept dying. Stopped having any death after water is at 32deg.

I also agree they grow faster at higher temp!

oppsss... the secrets leaked out... tomorrow all heater will be sold out

Another important point is feed 3 times a day... this one more difficult for many of us...

Back to topic TS, try to get bigger sized plecs the next time you make pleco purchases. Wish you better luck in pleco keeping!

agree with you bro! Now I use either HMF or air driven sponge filter for fries grow out.

glad it works for you bro... remember heater must be calibrated. 32 will be upper range already. If not calibrated and actual temperature is higher than that... very soon get fried ikan bilis.

my temperature was 34deg for afew days until i compare with your thermometer loh! so it was my heater, not my thermo!!

luckily no casualties, now my heater at 28deg, water at 31
