Anyone has a clear idea how to estimate? Understand the date stated on cert is actually the tag date only.

To be very sure. You can email to the Arowana farm. Usually farm have email contact and tell them the Tag number. Should have a reply on the birth date.

Actually I did call GML, they said normally 6mths old they will tag the aros. Wondering how true coz tag date is 21/01/2014, which means my xb is already 1yr 10mths old. Last mth when I bag him, he was only ard 7inches. Now at 8inches, seems a bit small for an almost 2yr old aro. Stunt growth?

Maybe short barbels and wrinkles on face and top of the head. The older the aro the shorter the barbels.

before u claim 'stunt' growth... .. may want to consider factors like; tank size? water vol? diet? frequency of feeding? tank-mates? filtration? water Quality?
cant be Papa & mummaAro's fault right????? cant b farmer's fault right????? well.. .. usually not; I should tink |

just to share something on oscars.
For babies, to estimate its age thing: one inch to one month. As what shiokmc stated; also subjected to water parameters, feeding regime, tank size. |

Attached one of the old pics in the 1st week bagged home. Then he was alone in a 2ft tank with canister filter. Initial feeding was on goldfish for 1st week then 2nd week onwards on BF & MW. 3rd week onwards diet changed to MP and daily pallets training. Latter having no success till date, max chew then spit. Last Sunday 19/04 shifted to 5ft tank running sump. Current diet on MP and frozen GS ranging from extra small to small size. |
