hi there! I'm new into koi too, and am already into getting my first fish. Here is a pict of it. in terms of keeping kois in fgt, its ok, if the koi is not too big, but you cannot expect it to grow to a good size.
What type of koi are you interested in? |

keeping koi?
theres a koi pond in my condominium compound and basically, by buying, 3/4 of the koi inside are mine or my dad's. we feed them and order food and stuff =P well. they'll grow basically as much as the tank allows them too, but this is cruel as they can easily reach around 1m in lenght. keeping them in a large pond with good filtration is the best choice. |

Hmm... How big a midori are you looking at?
The second seems to be wad they call an aya wakaba, a relatively new breed. Kois exceeding 80cm(i think) are known as jumbo, and Chagoi, benigoi and most other single colour koi tend to grow in excess of 1m. BUT!! Local kois seem to be generally smaller in size, so... In all, If u have the space, the BIGGER the BETTER! but if you cant, just don't overstock! |
