Just bought 2 small Tancho from Nippon for $250 each. Will see how they grow after getting some "specially formulated" food from them which they say will provide growth spurt for 1 month.

Hello! all i can share abt is that my parents koi bred:
We have 18 koi now in a koi pond in the garden, as you know they breed when water is cold. So every time when its rainy season, we will add floating plants in and switch off the fountain to trigger them to breed.
They will breed when water is cool and there is low light intensity(thats why the plants)
Males are usually smaller than female and males look more longish
Females fin are larger but less colourful than males
Good luck!

Fantastic. Very few people can have their Koi breed in their pond. Your setup must be close to their natural habitat for them to breed. Care to describe the environment, water condition and type of food you feed them?
