Default Arowana Feeding - Stomach full or not?

Hi Bros,

This could be a dump question; however, what is the best practice to feed the Arowana? Feed him stomach full or up-to 70%?

I've observed when i feed him prawns stomach full (full as in he doesn't care the sinking prawn chunk), in subsequent days, he just chews the prawns and spits it. Its too difficult to make him eat prawns, without fasting him; may be upto a week.

However, when i feed him 60 ~ 70%, he eats prawns daily without any hiss. I'm not sure whether this theory is correct, or its just a personality of my VFSR.

Please share your thoughts on this.

Best Regards,
Jijo

Hikari jumbo carnisticks in the morning (intended for his red parrot companion; sometime he eats as well). Evening MP (which he doesn't allow parrot to touch).

6 months ago, lot of live feed as included in his diet. However no matter how much i condition the live stock, occasionally he gets infected. Hence completely stopped it.

Any clue about his feeding pattern? Stomach full or half? Or is it too difficult to conclude?

If you are pumping your aro, feed until it refuse to take anymore food.

If for normal feeding, just follow your regular 60-70% feeding regime is fine.

I would rather feed them 2 - 3 times a week.
Each meal perhaps 75 - 80% full.

IMHO, don't over pump your fish. It may shorten their lives.

Thanks Bros for your inputs.

Now I'm feeding him 3-4 medium sized prawns per day. And his stomach full is somewhere close to 5-6 prawns.

With 3-4 prawns, everyday he is showing the eagerness to come and grab the food, rather than eating once/twice per week and don't care during rest of the week.

Looks like 7 medium meals per week, would be better than 2-3 buffet per week. Any thoughts?
