I guess since already fill water, unlikely going to paint.
But I think will be better to give one or 2 coat of epoxy paint.
Can improve water proofing after painting....

if water 'noise' not an issue to u... I would leave it...

greater fall.... greater aeration/water disturbance

erm.. apart from evaporation across the large surface area from body of water....
cement if not cured properly.... will continue to 'absorb' water

thanks Bro, Still water testing before painting the pond hopefully this week it'll be done , had to fix leak
