Default Question on canister piping .

Hi guys,

I'm new to this hobby .

Can I ask if I need to change the piping for my eheim canister ?

My pipings are already in their 3 months . Is there a need to change ? Or when should I change ?

Currently using 2 canisters (eheim 2080 and 2260) for my 522 tanks.

Please advise.

Hi Chris, thanks .

But there is some "dirty stuff" along the piping . Is it necessary to clean them ?

One more question , how often u clean the media in your 2080 ?
Please advise . Thanks

The dirt in the pipe can leave it no harm. unless you drain out the water from the pipe after it will wash out the dirt when you on the filter. Depend on your tank bioload from weeks to months. hope it helps or maybe others experts may advice otherwise.

Cheers
Chris

I second leaving it alone unless the build up of dirt and slime is so bad that it reduces the flow noticeably.

Can try cleaning the tubes by tieing a weighted string to a tube brush and pulling it through the tube.

Also can stuff the hose with wool or pebbles and water pressure force though the hose to the other end. This method applies for long hose when string bruch cannot work.
