yeah want to find sticker to paste them at both sides and back already
black background looks quite cool too i do notice my puffer do not like the tank light, when i on the tank light during evening it shows some grey shade around his sides, but when i just on my room light and not the tank light, no more grey shade around his body and show me full white white fat belly |

i will definitely aim for Fahaka or Mbu when i have a chance to upgrade my tank
Fahaka needs a tank size of 4x2x2 for itself while Mbu needs 5-6ft right? |

anyway, that's gd observation! I believe skin color tone denotes their health & mood... my previous few puffers also exhibit similar changes as ur GSP.. tank light IMO.. not really necessary for fish only tank.. room lights suffice for me.. hehe.. save $$ Quote:
ang moh forum/pple go for dunno how many hundreds of gallons tank. But realistically speaking.. in SG, that's not very possible.. especially HDB dwellers. anyway, I feel 422 for fahaka is very comfortable liao.. No keep mbu before but again 532/632 sounds very reasonable for a 1ft++ monster |

GSP is brackish water puffer eh, best covert to saltwater when it mature. they will thrive better in marine condition.
MBU can grow up until 2ft+ actually. I contemplate about getting a mbu when it hit our shores few weeks back. Although bros here said 5ft x 2.5ft is enough, but i still feel its quite cramp when they fully matured, its like taking 2-3 steps and you hit a wall. So in the end i decided not to get 1. |

I concur! gd point.
bro Surround.. pls do adjust the S.G. accordingly to its growth. Quote:
regarding this huge puffer n tank size debate..I'm wondering.. what about those keeping huge aro? I read they can also grow big.. but yet many keep them in much smaller tank (as compared to those sizes mentioned for huge puffer tank) another pt I feel.. is that puffer can maneuver ard much better than those streamline fish.. so perhaps although their movement might appear uncomfortable in a 'smaller' setup, they are actually OK with it? (I'm a firm believer that fishes need lots of swimming space to thrive) I'm not really that keen on this topic.. (IMO focusing on water & internal parasite mgmt shd be more of our concern) cos I'm don't really foresee me setting up any huge tank in the near future.. Hahaha.. just posting my thoughts. |

don't remember the exact details.. but aquarium salt lacks many trace elements..calcium..magnesium..etc.. that's needed to create marine environment. here are two articles I found after a quick google.. (more articles out there) http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/...altoftheearth/ http://www.skepticalaquarist.com/docs/health/salt.shtml |
