First one does look like a Protomelas. Some type of red empress I would guess. But they do come in a wide variety of colours.

No idea on the second.

Just buy the aluminium foil, size it to your aquarium's size +20%(to accommodate for the shaping the "rocks") and
crumple it then unfold it ,

Care to elaborate type of spray paint used & what tape/glue you use to stick it at the back of tank?

Sorry if I asked too much becoz i'm seriously considering getting a 3D background for my new 4ft tank.
Those ready-made styrofoam 3D background can be a bit expensive. If there's a cheaper diy version why not
