The major restriction is most Japanese breeders don't deal with foreigners and I think TGM mentioned before that Dory-K have limited stocks in Japan.

I have been waiting for almost half a year with not a single news of it.

That's pretty much it!

They are not readily available here too, as they really are selectively bred for show pieces.
They pop up in mass every now and then, you just have to grab them straight away regardless of the cost!

SSS grade (only one animal populations ultimate)

Yen 15cm 100,000 (105,000 yen including tax) = 1,617.05 SGD after tax

So it will cost ~SGD$2-3k after shipping?

But IMO, the "real deal" is clearly not as of high quality as they once were.
As for Kamihata getting "supplied" from Indonesian breeders, that's simply not the case.

They have however recently been sourcing their breeding program outside of Japan, providing foreign breeders with breeding pairs that have a proven track recording of spawning.

Are the PBB you see now coming from Kamihata Japan or from other breeders supplied by Japan? Who knows, anyone's guess.

What is clear is the quality drop over the last year or two.

As for Dory-k, passing quality Bichirs off as their own, that's a crazy suggestion.
I know a few people from the Dory-k/bask syndicate, and that's not something they need to do.
Sorry for the late reply.

I had a talk with the local supplier and got to know that the recent shipment is from japan, but through a dealer who deals with Kamihata. I do not know how reliable is this news, but i think he can't be possibily lying to me. It will be serious if Kamihata knows ppl are faking certs to sell indo PBB as kamihata PBB.

We have a dealer who has direct links with Kamihata as he is the sole distributor of Hikari. So the earlier Kamihata shipments is more likely from him
, while the later shipment maybe from suppliers who knows japanese exporters/importers.

As for Dory K del, it's just a matter of time we may get it. This supplier asked me where to get it and I point him to the web and see how good his contacts are. I am praying for 1 or more also as I had 5 very good dels(possible Dory K standard) that died recently. Still got 10pcs of so so Dels left.

I never posted my best del(deceased) and moke in this forum or anywhere yet. Those who have seen them will know what I am talking about.

Good luck with the Dory-K!
Just remember to check it has the Dory-K cert (Has holograms) .

As for the Hikari reps, Hikari is the run by the "Kuorin food company".
They are owned by Hikari, but have nothing to do with the livestock and farms of Kamihata.

Typo in last post. Meant to say Kyorin is owned by the Kamihata group.

That was going through my mind too. Would companies here risk it for just the few hundred dollars?
