Default Aquarium dumping problem - feeder goldfish 18" long, a global issue

Just sharing this photos for awareness, since this was discussed recently why we should not introduce non native fish into our local water system.

The size of this gold fish, used as feeder or baits by game fishing in Lake Tahoe resulted in monster size goldfish caught by scientists.

It's a global issue, the other photo shows the same issue in other countries. And I don't think we want to see the same problem here.

Can this be concluded that different environments have different types of upbringing? Haha, even in our human race as well!

I guess the size it can grow is limited by the space the fish has invaded and also the food compatibility.

The photo in the middle was captured in France.

The other most talk about issue is the explosion of asian silver carp in one river. The carps jumped out of the water due to the vibration of the outboard motor. Nobody eats the carp....

Won't the bright coloration be a disadvantage in the wild? Unless there are no predators.

this one happens in USA. they are catching asian carps by the 10s of thousands everyday and yet the population is exploding. Species at risk are 2 giants, Lake sturgeon and giant paddle fish.

ironically, Asian carps are hard to come by in China where they are considered a delicacy.

Last nite happened to caught a program on cable of this asian carp issue. The Americans are now processing the carp into fish food.

With the US economy in the doldrum, they could use the additional income to export this fish back to China. Someone pest can be gold to another!
