Hao, is the color of your ansorgii always as such? Does the markings show clearly?

Sometimes it's more clear if sand is scattered around. But most of the time it's like that since my tank is mostly black bottom.
Here is an old photo of all 3 Ansorgii. One of mines always have bold pattern.

I have been keeping mine for a year or so, only recently can see the contrast, not sure why. Have seen some with very high contrast specimens from hobbyist, so I guess very subjective, could be environment.
