1262 pump pre-filter

hi bros,
Like your opinion over the use of the pre-filter sponge in the Eheim 1262 pump being used under-water. Do you put it there or remove it completely?

if you are not using gravel, can remove.
It clogs very easily.

Thanks bro for your feedback I will clean it more often

don't really need prefilter. if you realise, there's no way to use prefilter if it is not submerged, and there's no special instruction to filter the water at the inlet side before entering the pump. unless you have tons of sand or gravel, it shouldn't affect the impeller.
