I was against why a non-elected MP is doing the stand-in on his MP duties. My words were "I don't understand why an "Unelected" former MP can stand in for him in his MP duties. This is just wrong. " Did you "conveniently skipped" the above line? Last edited by globalcookie; 20-05-2016 at 10:30 AM. |

Dun think it was you that "conveniently skipped" la..
You sound... touchy. In any case, the Ex Mp was the Predecessor. Same thing, Thaman was the Predecessor. So his duties went back to experienced hands who were mentoring him. Unelected? Erm.. Tamp all along has been PAP stronghold leh... so ya.. the ex mp was "elected" before if it's of any help. http://www.straitstimes.com/singapor...able-condition Mr Heng's duties have been taken over by several ministers and MPs. Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam, the previous finance minister, is back helming the ministry, while Mr S. Iswaran, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry), was appointed co-chairman of the Committee on the Future Economy. The four other Tampines GRC MPs will take turns to visit constituents in Mr Heng's Tampines Central ward, and attend to their needs at his Meet-the-People Sessions on Mondays. They will be helped by former Tampines GRC MP Sin Boon Ann, who has been appointed deputy chairman of the People's Action Party branch in Tampines Central. |

A bit of misunderstanding here:-
"The four other Tampines GRC MPs will take turns to visit constituents in Mr Heng's Tampines Central ward, and attend to their needs at his Meet-the-People Sessions on Mondays. They will be helped by former Tampines GRC MP Sin Boon Ann, who has been appointed deputy chairman of the People's Action Party branch in Tampines Central." Probably we should be asking will he be sworn in and drawing MP allowance. |

to me, the first and foremost duty of a MP is to represent the constituency at parliament. that sin boon ann cannot do.
meet the people, take notes and help us solve daily issues; doesn't have to be the MP himself so long as things are looked into and addressed appropriately. doesn't improve my emotional health one single bit if I see baey or sin or heng. so long as I don't see marbok tan |
