Default canon digital camera

hello guys and girls

I intend to buy canon powershot G2 digital camera.
As i am new to this thing,can someone in here advise me whether this camera is good and wat are the pro and cons.
MY budget is $sin 1600 just in case there is a better one.

It's a very good one. For fish photos, this one is really over spec. For real world photos, this one is very close to SLR camera. I reviewed some opinions in some webs, and found no negative comments (out of 21 comments). An example of the comments is "other than good, is still good".
