Great video of your Oscars. You deserve an Oscar award for that effort. Your video is a serious contender. By the way, able to share specific methods you use to cleanse your tubifex worms? Sorry if I am going off topic but I see that your fishes main diet is tubifex.

Ha... Aiyo ur words so sweet i dunno wat to say leh. Ha... How did u know i waded in 3 feet of water in a 40 ton pond when I film them with my iphone on maximum zoom? Tat's some effort on an amateur level... no oscar award but I'll accept some tomato award also can. Ha... Thanks anyway, and thank u for watching.
U see lots of people treat their tubifex with yellow powder, sometimes acriflavine, sometimes funny funny antibiotics, right? Sometimes people lower pH overnight which is actually quite helpful. My point is problems from tubifex I find usually not bacteria in nature, so antibiotic use waste of time really. It is the larger, higher eukaryotic order... protozoans, flukes, etc etc and other micro parasites festering up gill arches and stomachs tat u need worry... so when ur fishes down with something from eating tubis treatment aim toward getting rid of parasites be better. On how to clean tubis... the most trial and tested way for me is to have my tubis sit in low pH water for 48 hours before feeding out... constantly changing water out during that time. Some used formalin... killing smaller parasites before it kills ur tubis... which I dun recommend. Some K bomb tubis... which is messy and can be difficult to time. I believe they now sell treatment for tubi worms as well... u can check with some lfs. Check with people who keep bettas... they should be quite expert in tubis. Check with old discus people if u meet some... they be expert in tubis as well. |
