HDB oversupply is better than undersupply. HDB flat is what most sporean can only afford for a house. Cheaper is definitely better for all people. You sell cheap mean you also can buy cheap. The nett effect is the same.

buy cheap is good for new buyer into property market. sell cheap is no good for upgrader, bec they cannot afford to upgrade, unless is another HDB lesser HDB appreciation....and eventually widen the gap between private housing and HDB....which lead to society wealth gap...which can lead to many other problems.... so...only the expert know how to solve it. |

This is better than HDB flat trying to keep pace with private housing price. In Spore more than 70% of population live in HDB flat. If hdb flat try to keep in pace with private housing, it mean lower and middle income need to keep pace with the top 20% plus population in order to afford their HDB flat. If those who wanna upgrade to condo, do it by all means if they feel they can afford, why whine about low HDB price so they cannot upgrade ? Because of this upgraders mean majority of HDB flat buyers have to endure the high price ? Personally i think the social wealth gap is not caused simply by living in a private or HDB flat. |
