Nice house to live in I'm sure. But she should seriously consider moving out. Cost of securing her flat aside, in the longer run, the inconvenience brought to the neighbours will slowly outweigh the initial welcome of having a president staying amongst them.

There are, however, rules to be able to buy over the corridor.
Eg. Not have neighbour's windows at the stretch, not encroaching on other's area (can't recall how much but there is).

So if she had NOT bought nxt door.. or if this was not a jumbo flat, high chances she cannot buy over the stretch of corridor.
