Default A drop in the ocean

In my experience, ice only works on tanks 3ft or smaller.

I have a 3ft tank cooled by fan to 27.5C. On hot days I drop in two ice-kacang containers of ice to lower the temperature to 26.5. It takes about an hour to get back to 27.5. This time is affected by the environment your tank is in.

And that's all I can do. When I have six containers of water in the freezer, it sucks every bit of power out of the fridge. My frozen food thaws and becomes soft.

I won't even dream of trying ice on my 5ft tank.

I think the most important point here is that if you use ice, you are not able to keep the temperature constant.

I will more or less recommend using a fan instead. Can use DIY fan if want to save $$. Try to fix a few fans instead. I use 3 CPU fans and had managed to keep the temp down to 25-27.

ur ice wont last 12 hrs and the temp will not keep constant for 12 hrs. Temp will go back to normal within 2 to 3 hrs...

that will cast huge temp change and cause stress to ur livestock, and serious cases live stock will get sick and die ...

i would seriously recommend chiller or fan.... if it is impossible to get both, than switch off ur lights in the afternoon and only leave it on during evening...

Not very sure cos I change the cpu fan that come with it and the other two fan was from my friend and brother-in-law who also change their fan.

Few month back, I think I saw a shop in slm lim selling for $5 each. Not sure whether is it still selling. You can also use the power supply fan.
