Plant Not So Green
Dear Bro,
I just started a 2.5 feet planted tank but after 2 weeks, the plants are not as green as before. I am using c02 and 2 55w 2 feet light. I went to 328 and the boss asked me to put iron solution. Any advice? Thanks in advance |

Any pics to show? Normally red coloured plants are the ones that needs iron rich water to enhance the redness.

You need more than iron... you need nitrogen, potassium and phosphorous, as well as a whole lot of other elements. Read up on fertilisation (there are stickies here). For starters you can get the Seachem range of fertilisers.

I think a photo is better, as in, let us what plants and the degree of color loss.
If the leaves are turning brittle and a little "glassy like", you really need Iron. Leaves turning glassy or disintergrating by starting to turn colorless is usually a sign of Iron deficiency. I don't know if you are dosing anything else. Let us know. |
