Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos 'forced to change phone number' following incident with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has reportedly had to change his phone number after receiving threats for his part in the injury that is threatening the World Cup participation of Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.

Ramos became public enemy number one among Reds fans and in particular supporters of the Egypt national team after tumbling with Salah during the Champions League final in Kiev last Saturday.

The Liverpool forward left the field in tears after half-an-hour with a shoulder problem and has subsequently been ruled out for three weeks.

That leaves him unlikely to feature in Egypt's World Cup opener against Uruguay on Friday, June 15 and facing a race against time to be available for their second game with hosts Russia the following Tuesday.

And now reports in El Partidazo de COPE have claimed Ramos and some family members have subsequently been forced to change their phone numbers after receiving abusive messages, some of which have been death threats.

The story also says Spanish police are now investigating the incidents.

Egypt football fans have not been shy to demonstrate their anger towards Ramos, with a petition originating in the country demanding UEFA punish Ramos. It currently has more than 500,000 signatures.

One Egyptian lawyer has even launched a £873million lawsuit against the Real Madrid man.

Default Real Madrid want Mauricio Pochettino - but their fans want Liverpool boss Klopp

Real Madrid have seemingly identified Mauricio Pochettino as the man to replace Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu.

But Jurgen Klopp is a favourite amongst their supporters.

Widespread reports claim the Spanish giants will turn to Tottenham boss Pochettino as their next manager, although Spurs maintain there is no release clause in his recently signed five-year contract.

Yet in an online poll run by prominent Madrid-based publication Marca, it is Klopp who wins out amongst voters.

Klopp tops the poll - at time of writing - with 29% wanting him to succeed Zidane, with Pochettino second with 23%.

Club legend Guti is third on 20%, while Germany boss Joachim Low comes fourth with 14%.

Nearly 45,000 had registered their opinion.

Real fans' plea comes just a week after Klopp's side lost to the La Liga side in the Champions League final in Kiev.

Their hopes will be dashed, however, with the German boss going absolutely nowhere and contracted to the club until 2022.

Default Liverpool stance on Alisson unchanged as Roma prepare for life without goalkeeper

Liverpool are seeking a new goalkeeper this summer – and rumours of a move for Roma's Alisson won't go away.

And now the future of the shot-stopper has become embroiled in further intrigue, according to reports in Italy on Friday.

Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport has claimed the Serie A side are already preparing for life without the Brazil international, who is set to appear at Anfield on Sunday for his national team in their friendly against Croatia.

It is suggested Roma sporting director Monchi has shortlisted both Bayer Leverkusen's Bernd Leno and Alphonse Areola of Paris Saint-Germain as a potential replacement for Alisson.

Roma have no intention of selling Alisson, nor has the player asked to be put up for sale.

However, they are putting in place a contingency plan should they been given an offer they would struggle to refuse, said to be in the region of 70 million euros.

Alisson has been linked with several clubs, with Chelsea joining Real Madrid as the latest rumoured interested party given the ongoing uncertainty over the future of Thibaut Courtois.

Liverpool earlier this year informed Alisson's representatives not to expect a bid this summer, although that could change over the coming weeks with Jurgen Klopp considering his options as he looked to overhaul the goalkeeping department.

Meanwhile, Alisson's agent, Ze Maria Neis, has denied suggestions this client is already bound for the Bernabeu.

“The idea he already has an agreement with Real Madrid is completely false,” he said to forzaroma.info. “I don’t see how Cafu could know more than I do on the matter.

“I haven’t yet spoken to Monchi or anyone else.”

Liverpool fans pay unique tribute to Lucas Leiva - by fixing Lazio player of year awards

Liverpool fans have paid a unique tribute to Lucas Leiva - by hijacking Lazio's player of the year awards.

The Brazilian moved to the Serie A side last summer after a decade with the Reds.

Lucas became a huge fan favourite towards the end of his time on Merseyside but left in search of first-team fotball.

The midfielder has enjoyed a strong debut campaign in Rome, with his side set for Champions League qualification until a final day defeat to Inter Milan saw them finish fifth.

The 31-year-old, who scored four goals in 50 appearances in all competitions, was named in the four-man shortlist as Lazio took the vote to Twitter.

But despite Ciro Immobile being hot favourite, following a season which saw him score an incredible 29 goals in 33 league games, Lucas is the runaway leader.

And it's all thanks to Liverpool fans, who discovered the poll and have since urged fellow supporters to vote for their former star.

Lucas is currently on 69%, while Immobile is second on 17%.

Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is third with 10%, while former Reds man Luis Alberto, who registered more assists than anybody player in Italy this season, is fourth on 4%.

Liverpool pulled off Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain transfer coup - but could they do it again this summer?

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be missed at the start of next season, as he recovers from his knee injury.

The former Arsenal man was in fantastic form before departing the semi-final with Roma injured.

He would not be seen again, and was an undoubted miss for the Reds.

Few would have thought that at the start of the campaign, with detractors lining up to write him - and the deal - off.

But at £35million, the midfielder represented a coup. Though plenty scoffed at the fee, the profile he possessed still commanded a hefty price.

Young, English, a trophy-winner and part of a top four rival's squad, Oxlade-Chamberlain should have cost even more.

But the Reds spotted an opportunity, with the England international's contract expiring the following summer. With Arsenal keen to not lose him on a free in 2018, they accepted a lower offer than anticipated.

It is a decision which has continued to haunt them.

There is comfort in the fact Oxlade-Chamberlain will return at some point next season; comfort, too, that there are other similar deals which could be done if the Reds desired.

As summer hits, a whole host of young, progressive stars have just one year on their contract remaining.

There are some big names who could walk from their current clubs for nothing in 2019, including no-nonsense Atletico Madrid man Diego Godin and German international Sami Khedira.

From the Premier League, the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Cesc Fabregas, Juan Mata and Mousa Dembele will come to the end of their current deals in just over 12 months time.

Those would not fit the profile of the sort of player Liverpool, and Jurgen Klopp, would be attracted by.

But these players, all aged between 21 and 27, might be.

The Reds made capitalised upon Oxlade-Chamberlain's situation – but could one of these be next?

Anthony Martial

Age: 22

Club: Manchester United

Verdict: The unlikeliest of all, but could Klopp be the man to unlock the Frenchman's potential after a disappointing stint at Old Trafford? He has the option to sign for a further season, but his limited opportunities could see him seek pastures new.

Alessandro Florenzi

Age: 27

Club: Roma

Verdict: Liverpool know all about the Italian international, having faced off against him in the Champions League semi-final. Capable of playing both in defence or midfield, he has served as a rampaging right back for the Serie A side for most of this season. The Reds, however, are well-stocked in that position.

Adrien Rabiot

Age: 23

Club: Paris St Germain

Verdict: A player very much on the radar of Europe's top clubs, including Barcelona. His signature would be hugely aspirational, but he is a fantastic player who could fit into Liverpool's style. Able to play both as a deeper midfielder and as a little further up, the Frenchman provides a metronomic presence in the midfield.

Mattia Perin

Age: 25

Club: Genoa

Verdict: Considered one of the more exciting young goalkeepers in Europe – relatively young, at least, aged 25 – the Italian has shone since establishing himself at Genoa. He has kept 12 clean sheets, and conceded just 40 goals, in 36 league games this season; Liverpool could find themselves a bargain to compete with Loris Karius for the no.1 shirt.

Jordan Lukaku

Age: 23

Club: Lazio

Verdict: Younger brother of Romelu, Lukaku has operated on the left-hand side of Lazio's midfield for most of the campaign, as the Rome club look to seal Champions League qualification. He would be no more than back-up to Andy Robertson as an attacking full-back.

Angel Correa

Age: 23

Club: Atletico Madrid

Verdict: The tricky Argentine was an ever-present for Atletico in La Liga this season before missing the last game, a defeat to Espanyol, through suspension. Smart in possession, hard-working and quick, he appears ready-made for Jurgen Klopp's counter-attacking side. Would represent a similar coup to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Samuel Bastien

Age: 21

Club: Chievo

Verdict: Linked with Liverpool a while ago, with suggestions the Reds wanted him in 2016 when he was at Anderlecht, the Belgian midfielder has been tipped for stardom. But having stagnated in Italy, perhaps now would be the time to strike. He would underwhelm the support, however.

Jean Michael Seri

Age: 26

Club: Nice

Verdict: Another midfielder, and another who had been tentatively linked with Liverpool last summer. Seri was considered a driving force behind Nice's qualification for the Champions League – although they would exit at the play-off stage – and the Ivorian is seen the sort of player who could thrive at Anfield. Reports suggest he has a release clause of £33million this summer.

Matija Nastasic

Age: 25

Club: Schalke

Verdict: Seen as a flop during his short-lived tenure at Manchester City, the Serbian centre-back has redeemed himself in the Bundesliga. Left-sided and strong in the air, Nastasic could be worthy of a second crack at the Premier League, much like Mohamed Salah before him.

Juan Bernat

Age: 25

Club: Bayern Munich

Verdict: The Spaniard has suffered an interrupted campaign at Bayern, mainly due to injury. The former Valencia man can play down the left-hand side, either in defence or in midfield, and would represent a decent alternative to Andy Robertson.

Iker Muniain

Age: 25

Club: Athletic Bilbao

Verdict: Considered one of Spain's most precocious talents during his teenage years – and is their youngest-ever debutant - Muniain has stagnated slightly at the Basque club. A serious cruciate injury earlier this season hasn't helped him, either. But with the ability to play across the front three, a fully-fit Muniain could be a solid option for Jurgen Klopp to call upon.

Milos Veljkovic

Age: 22

Club: Werder Bremen

Verdict: Previously part of Tottenham's youth set-up, Veljkovic left in 2016 in pursuit of first-team football. He has found that at Bremen, serving as their first-choice centre-back throughout the past two seasons. A commanding defender, the Serbian would be one to develop at Anfield.
