the first tank reminds me of the tank at far east aquatics....somehow the few stalks of foregrd plants (think is gu jing grass or something)....looks out of place.

as for the 2nd tank.....a full frontal pic would be helpful. from this shot, can tell tat u r trying to create tat amano look but something seems missing. ah....it's the depth.....it looks a bit flat.....

just my 2cts worth........

For the second tank, the trick is the rock arrangment. The rocks look "weak" and "individual". Try burying the rocks in the gravel more, and reading up on Japanese sanzon-iwagumi techniques and looking at pictures of Amano's iwagumi tanks.
