What that kills a ray?

Learn from a brother that small torsa left over that grow bigger can also kill small ray? Do you have this encounter?

Wow, dats alot of CC=Coral chips?
Your Tank kH should be very high , so your tank is safe from very large ph swings.
Go get a ph tester..
Too High ph or too low will not kill your fish, as long as the ph is stable.
If you want to lower your tank ph, slowy and bit by bit removed ur CC.
Do not remove all at once, it will cause ur ph to drop suddenly and burn ur fish.

Nope,
Maybe due to alot of hungry predators in my tank.
I have a good clean up crew consist of a big ST , 4 medium size Kois and 4 very hungry rays .The baby torsats dun stand a chance.
But i do confirmed that Torsat can grow big very fast.
I left one very small torsat in my sump 2 week ago and her grew 5 times bigger and it killed my ghost shrimps living in my sump...darn it
Will give it time to grow alot bigger b4 i present it to my ST

Hahaha, yes torsa grows very fast....my aros love it too.

ya in my small 1ft tank, it outgrow everyone n started eating my neon tetras!!! then i got pissed n feed it to my aro.

Also learn that sudden disturbing of the sand bed of pond/tank can also kill. Filter pump stop for too long also no good

What is pros and cons of having a sandbed ? What type of sand is good for rays ?

Also do rays like water current circulating inside tank ? I have an external canister as well as a internal powerhead filter driving my ray tank.

I personally like bare bottom tanks so that easier to clean tank and do WC and also see the rays like puppies wagging on the front glass when I go near them la .

Let me try to answer your question.
1. Sandbed can able ray to hide and release stress when they are frigthened.
2. But if sand bed is not properly maintained...it may not be good for the ray.
I've both with and without sand bed for rays. I do prefer without sandbed too. Try to use bigger sand/stone, too find sand will get suck into the filtering system.

Yes, ray loves under current.

sand bed is best used with motoro rays cos they love to blow into the sand while searching for food. this is good as it releases goo from the sand bed, thus hinder toxic gases build up in the sand. if ur ray is not the type to play in the sand or blow into the sand, then best to keep it thin, 1-2" thick should suffice. also need to stir up the sand at least once per month to avoid toxic gases build up ....
