If I had the space, money and choice, a huge natural planted area with 20sq feet per ray, a natural waterfall to provide contant flowing water is best.

Limited space, WC still better.

Actually the whole purpose of this thread is to get ray keepers to start monitoring orp level as its a better and more comprehensive measure of water quality.

If your existing bio-system can maintain readings of 250 to 400 mV, then there is no need to add chemicals or ozone.

When orp readings threat downwards below 250, then it just tells us that we may need to change water...plunge below 200, wash filter media.

Of course if orp is contantly below 250, its just means that our bio-load too high and / or our filtering capacity is not sufficient. Kekeke either sell some rays or add filter capacity.

I only use chemical and ozone when my rays encounter problems and i need a ORP of >350. My contant reading is about 310-335.

Hope that clarifies, i personally do not like to add chemicals or ozone if nothing is wrong.

After trying many many funny things and wasting lots of $$$ to maintain gd water quality, I still must admit that bro Marshy is still right abt it, nothing beats frequent water change. Regretted nvr lsiten to him earlier. However, over doing is not gd as well. Monitor closely ur frequency and % of WC, find the optimum frequency and the % of WC and just repeat every week and u will be just fine. (On the assumption tat the filteration is also adeqate)

Really appreciate you for taking the time and effort to do the write up.

It totally brings my fish keeping knowledge to another level.

Not just for rays, but for every other fish.

I found this on an online store.

http://www.reefdepot.com.sg/AddProduct.asp?ProdID=166

Normal already 189. No need promo price

Shipping price above $300 got free speedpost delivery. DBS/POSB card holders can get 0% installments.

U think can use tat to push the price lower?
