Water infection, need help
Need some advise regards to bacteria infection
Currently having a 422 tank with only a 11" Aro and feeder fish. Using external carnester filter with wool, BR and lava rock as media, flowrate 1200L/hr. Feeder fish will have fin rot and scale drop and eventually die. Water cond ok after check. Suspect bacteria or virus in water. Did a 100% clean up last month on tank and filter. For tank, add tons of salt in water for 2 days, wash and dry the tank for another 2 days. For filter, change wool, use hot water to wash the rock and BR. After all the trouble, cycle tank for 3 days and intro Aro back. After 1 month, back to square 1 again. Please advise what happen and what else can I do to remove the unwanted guest. |

wat do u mean by back to sq 1 after 1 mth?
If only feeders got problem, maybe the feeders are infested and sickly. Try other clean fish to cycle tank |

I agree. 3 days mean cycle already. Take water parameter might be useless too as it might still reflect 0 for both ammonia n nitrite. Secondly, any anti-chloramine being used?

This type of situation must hot water everything....even the filter media, pipes, motor....bopian. Thereafter, cycle again with pariah fishes and observe...2 weeks minimum. No short cut unless change everything.
