Default MY MILLENNIUM POND-300tons

<div align="center">

</div>
<div align="center">THEN &amp; NOW - MOHAN’S MILLENNIUM POND.

<strong>September 1999</strong>

The earth is dug down 15 feet to construct a 300 ton 12 feet deep heart shaped Millennium Koi pond.

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGItSweDshI/AAAAAAAAAZ0/mEeDh-g-RHg/s1600/pic+2.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 210px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504011494872035858" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGItSweDshI/AAAAAAAAAZ0/mEeDh-g-RHg/s320/pic+2.jpg" /></a>
Digging, digging, and digging. Went on for two days. Luckily, the neighbour’s plot was empty which helped us to store the sand.

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGIuf4GsXaI/AAAAAAAAAZ8/uYyfiFN33mU/s1600/pic+3.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504012819771448738" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGIuf4GsXaI/AAAAAAAAAZ8/uYyfiFN33mU/s320/pic+3.jpg" /></a>
Part of the heart shaped pond is seen. Can you see ‘Koi Kichis’ Vj and Vinod. Yes, we went with our dad from our previous house in Sri Hartamas to inspect the work in progress.

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGIvf2uH2qI/AAAAAAAAAaE/Z0HG_4sq2I4/s1600/pic+4.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504013918911584930" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGIvf2uH2qI/AAAAAAAAAaE/Z0HG_4sq2I4/s320/pic+4.jpg" /></a>
The internal foundation work is completed which supports the M.pond…and still supporting.

After the base was completed, the foundation walls for the M.pond was constructed with strong steel bars.
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGIwV3JXtQI/AAAAAAAAAaM/K6zCjvURPwE/s1600/pic+5.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 174px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504014846738806018" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGIwV3JXtQI/AAAAAAAAAaM/K6zCjvURPwE/s320/pic+5.jpg" /></a>
The 8 inlet pipes to the filter chambers and external drains are constructed.

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGIyPsmIluI/AAAAAAAAAaU/OeBw4HmxlFE/s1600/pic+6.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504016939850700514" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGIyPsmIluI/AAAAAAAAAaU/OeBw4HmxlFE/s320/pic+6.jpg" /></a>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGIzSsNBFwI/AAAAAAAAAac/s-2HwliVohE/s1600/pic+7.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 215px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504018090796586754" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGIzSsNBFwI/AAAAAAAAAac/s-2HwliVohE/s320/pic+7.jpg" /></a>
Piping, piping, piping – massive piping work. – see the thick concrete walls.

The earth is shaped into a “heart shape M.pond”
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGI1a9a3pQI/AAAAAAAAAak/6b3CRneDw38/s1600/pic+8.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 222px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504020431880299778" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGI1a9a3pQI/AAAAAAAAAak/6b3CRneDw38/s320/pic+8.jpg" /></a>
A better look inside...

<div align="center">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGI68YJXd-I/AAAAAAAAAas/CKovw-XLDCM/s1600/pic+9.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 211px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504026503548467170" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGI68YJXd-I/AAAAAAAAAas/CKovw-XLDCM/s320/pic+9.jpg" /></a>
Deep Pond not safe – so decided to raise it. View from our bangalow.</div>
<div align="center">

</div>
<div align="center">

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGI70CUvP_I/AAAAAAAAAa0/AjQvp83KtTE/s1600/pic+10.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 217px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504027459763257330" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGI70CUvP_I/AAAAAAAAAa0/AjQvp83KtTE/s320/pic+10.jpg" /></a>
Brick work.
</div>
<div align="center">

</div>
<div align="center">Some of the senior koi kichis Hee, Lawyer Leong and others having a look at the “almost” complete M.pond. The M.pond remains but these koi kichis gave up the hobby.

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGI8p7yI2GI/AAAAAAAAAa8/B0MO5WgiwSI/s1600/pic+11.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 216px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504028385720457314" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGI8p7yI2GI/AAAAAAAAAa8/B0MO5WgiwSI/s320/pic+11.jpg" /></a>
The first pond visit without kois…

The headache is here again “piping”
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGI9a2l-MaI/AAAAAAAAAbE/czDjIiEXgD0/s1600/pic+12.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 226px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504029226140840354" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGI9a2l-MaI/AAAAAAAAAbE/czDjIiEXgD0/s320/pic+12.jpg" /></a>
“Massive piping” – to the external drain and to the settlement chambers.</div>
<div align="center">

</div>
<div align="center">
The inlet and outlet pipes of the M.pond
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGtu9iOgf-I/AAAAAAAAAbM/GT-P8pRnrvE/s1600/pic+13.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 220px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506616972829294562" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGtu9iOgf-I/AAAAAAAAAbM/GT-P8pRnrvE/s320/pic+13.jpg" /></a>
If one (1) mistake done here it will be a big headache later.
Notice the outlets controlled by valves. This chamber is hidden and situated at back of the waterfall – yet to be constructed

<strong>Now, work above the M.pond
</strong>
Here comes the walking area above the M.pond…that is the M.pond Bridge

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGtvtL4pNeI/AAAAAAAAAbU/P-E4e3RmahU/s1600/pic+14.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 222px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506617791465731554" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGtvtL4pNeI/AAAAAAAAAbU/P-E4e3RmahU/s320/pic+14.jpg" /></a>
The foundation work for the bridge.
</div>
<div align="center">

</div>
<div align="center">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGtwgbWudhI/AAAAAAAAAbc/Cm_tP6W3SWE/s1600/pic+15.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 221px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506618671791765010" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGtwgbWudhI/AAAAAAAAAbc/Cm_tP6W3SWE/s320/pic+15.jpg" /></a>
More massive work. Took days and days.

<strong>Work not finished…</strong>

The M.pond need to be given a better finish. </div>
<div align="center">

</div>
<div align="center">

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGuI-eiAAZI/AAAAAAAAAd8/gCfs2-FDslg/s1600/pic+16.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 218px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506645576319500690" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGuI-eiAAZI/AAAAAAAAAd8/gCfs2-FDslg/s320/pic+16.jpg" /></a>
Work progressing around the sides.

Here comes the waterfall…
</div>
<div align="center">

</div>
<p align="center"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt2GWjvJ5I/AAAAAAAAAbs/Eozrm8ayx68/s1600/pic+17.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 218px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506624820897326994" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt2GWjvJ5I/AAAAAAAAAbs/Eozrm8ayx68/s320/pic+17.jpg" /></a></p>
<div align="center">
</div>
<p align="center">The M.pond is not only 12 feet below the surface but also 15 feet above- that is the waterfall. Bambang is working hard. He spent several days standing like this. Bambang is an expert Indonesian Pond builder.Thanks Bambang.</p>
<p align="center"></p>
<div align="center">

</div>
<p align="center"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt3NeFO1eI/AAAAAAAAAb8/Riyltkg01vw/s1600/pic+18.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 221px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506626042687575522" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt3NeFO1eI/AAAAAAAAAb8/Riyltkg01vw/s320/pic+18.jpg" /></a></p>
<div align="center">
</div>
<p align="center">The completed 15 feet waterfall… can you see the entrance to the cave? That is the cave below the waterfall. </p>
<div align="center">
</div>
<p align="center"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt3vboP4CI/AAAAAAAAAcE/v6tlUDtZOaY/s1600/pic+19.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 224px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506626626144690210" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt3vboP4CI/AAAAAAAAAcE/v6tlUDtZOaY/s320/pic+19.jpg" /></a></p>
<div align="center">
</div>
<p align="center">The close look at the cave entrance.
Batu caves...?
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt6KvxGPhI/AAAAAAAAAcM/STzsOnbS2kg/s1600/pic+20.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 214px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506629294430240274" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt6KvxGPhI/AAAAAAAAAcM/STzsOnbS2kg/s320/pic+20.jpg" /></a>
Three Vortexes on each side of the twin filters which is doing a fantastic job.
</p>
<p align="center">
The Pagoda.

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt7jCVSqiI/AAAAAAAAAcU/excR0rySZvk/s1600/pic+21.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 218px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506630811242375714" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt7jCVSqiI/AAAAAAAAAcU/excR0rySZvk/s320/pic+21.jpg" /></a>

Massive Filters.
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt8DNoPJlI/AAAAAAAAAcc/H72ShjHaQ-M/s1600/pic+22.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 220px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506631364030441042" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt8DNoPJlI/AAAAAAAAAcc/H72ShjHaQ-M/s320/pic+22.jpg" /></a>
3 of the16 chambers of the M.pond filters can be seen. Notice the outlet - funnel shaped towards the outlet to prevent accumulation of sludge which we believe is the number 1 reason for hikkue.

<strong>At last...
</strong>
Partly completed -after about almost more than a year.

Feelings become better…
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt8o41R1gI/AAAAAAAAAck/l6IuWhDzLy0/s1600/pic+23.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 220px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506632011283027458" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt8o41R1gI/AAAAAAAAAck/l6IuWhDzLy0/s320/pic+23.jpg" /></a>
The clear view of the heart shape.

Aacch hooo!!! – Almost done!
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt9M04SwtI/AAAAAAAAAcs/O7FBeHqoEDg/s1600/pic+24.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 219px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506632628697219794" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt9M04SwtI/AAAAAAAAAcs/O7FBeHqoEDg/s320/pic+24.jpg" /></a>
Roof work to pagoda completed.

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt-DsKFiCI/AAAAAAAAAc0/WNkyiUx1b5k/s1600/pic+25.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 220px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506633571248736290" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt-DsKFiCI/AAAAAAAAAc0/WNkyiUx1b5k/s320/pic+25.jpg" /></a>
The walk path to the M.pond from our bungalow – lot more work to be done. </p>
<p align="center">I wonder how many times my dad walked this golden path per day.
He enjoys sitting in the pagoda &amp; watching his favourite kois.
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt-85N8IxI/AAAAAAAAAc8/DQEYzyWNKTs/s1600/pic+26.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506634554007102226" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt-85N8IxI/AAAAAAAAAc8/DQEYzyWNKTs/s320/pic+26.jpg" /></a>
The greens gives a polished look to the M.pond. Just insufficient paint.
</p>
<div align="center">
</div>
<p align="center"><strong>THE GREAT DAY</strong> – opening ceremony
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt_ms6Z1cI/AAAAAAAAAdE/fGGyRLBvAIc/s1600/pic+27.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 225px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506635272258442690" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_L4gjOZjIYdE/TGt_ms6Z1cI/AAAAAAAAAdE/fGGyRLBvAIc/s320/pic+27.jpg" /></a>

<strong>September 2002</strong>

The MKC koi club headed by Mr. Wong Kim San graciously agreed to perform the opening ceremony.

Picture shows the Japanese judge Tsuyoshi Tokutakesan together with Mr. Wong Kim San performing the opening ceremony – As the ribbon was cut to the dream Millennium pond the water inlets were switched on.– believed to be the biggest home koi pond in our country – should be registered in the Guinness book of record !

Tsuyoshi Tokutakesan having a look at the M.pond… with koi kichis amused.
