My tank's return water frm sump is so strong, it usually makes alot of sound and splashes.

I took a PVC pipe long enough to be slight 1/2" above base of tank, drill holes along the side like a recorder, stuck a rubber stopper with a hole at the base, and shoved it into the return outlet.

Tada... no need wavemaker liao. Pressure of the water coming out of the holes act as a natural wavemaker. Wan increase the "wave"? Increase power of pump lor.....

Ok let me share mine.

This is the last section of the sump. I have a spare Eheim 2028 so i am basically using it as a container for extra filtration. the inlet has been replaced by a pump.

the outlet i added in another DIY container at the end. I used a common container, made a big hole in the middle for the hose to go in and more holes at the sides for air to get in. At the bottom of the container i have holes which will be where the water flows out of.

In the interior i used a bottom cross section of a mineral water bottle so waterflow gets distributed more evenly

Maybe I can poke the PVC pipe into a container tat rest at the base of the tank, load the container wif CC or pretty stones/marbles, poke holes into the container to increase water movement @ base of tank.

Hmm......

Hi bro , when u off your pump does the water flow back into your sump through suction from your PVC pipe? if it does then its dangerous coz if u have a power trip then your sump will over flow and your main tank may be drained of most of its water. would suggest to shorten the length of the pipe into the tank if it does suck the water back into the sump... just my thoughts
