can't take any picture now as the tank is kept dark, hardly see them as they hide under the leaves or rest at the bottom of the tank floor. Slightest movement will frighten them, maybe they are caught in the wild? I bought one pair for $12 seem like juvenile at Y618 instead of C328. Quite difficult to enjoy if the imbellis keep hiding just wait for it to stabilize down and see whether it will turn around.

perhaps using ketapang water will calm them down a bit.
Usually imbellis not so shy in the right tank conditions, i.e. dark and hiding places. good luck |

What is the dimension of the tank you use? I am keen to start keeping wild betta....Is wild betta more hardy and can survive easier than those normal Betta Spandens like CT Bettas, Halfmoon Plakats etc? |

Not sure how to explain Y618, it means Yishun Blk 618.Stop at Khatib mrt station. You can check the google map for direction.
As for keeping wild betta, in my opinion I found it rewarding as it allow me to enjoy and closer to nature. I plan to start wild imbellis in community tank first and move on to other wild betta. |

Wild betta are less hardy and more shy than domestic betta. Keep them in tanks with blackwater and lots of dried leaves...Make sure that their water is kept soft and with a low PH. Also their colors may not be as vibrant as you see in variants of splendens... |

Just to correct myself. I'm referring to the wild betta you usually see at Y618 and C328. Some others do not need blackwater environment. It's best that you correctly identify the species and read up on their requirements before buying.

One of the challenge is that the wild betta will refuse to eat and eventually died. thus, not good idea to invest if the price is too high.
It will be good to buy from fellow breeders locally so at least you can consult on the type of food they fed. for myself, I tried tubiflex, seem look at it but still not eating. There goes my investment. |
