no la the shit will be stuck at the open mouth but wont suck in all u need to do is to remove it manually....... if i am not wrong u are changing water right? i think u have to manually scoop up the shit |

can put netting ard the front of the hose... thats wad i use to prevent sand and de small shrimps from going in when i still have my planted tank... cos b4 tat mani of me malayan shrimps go heaven...hahaha

izzit the tail or the caudal peduncle also kena cut off har??? i once had a cull goldfish (found in a pack of feeders) that had no tail, like the tailless parrotfish... it lived for two years without any probs until it died of ick a few months ago. i think yours will survive larh
